Every trip is private

Four ways through Ha Giang

Maximum five guests. I never merge groups. Two people is enough to depart.

The Classic Loop

3 days · 2 nights · max 5 guests

Ma Pi Leng, the Nho Que river and the border road — the whole Ha Giang Loop in three days, ridden by someone who lives on it.

  • Ha Giang → Lung Cu → Dong Van → Ma Pi Leng → Du Gia → Lung Tam → Ha Giang
  • Two boats: the Nho Que canyon and lunch on the water at Ban An
  • Homestay nights in Dong Van and Du Gia, family dinners both
  • Lung Tam indigo weaving — you get your hands on the loom

Off The Map

4 days · 3 nights · max 5 guests

Day one never touches the main Loop. Dirt tracks west to a cave and to Khau Lan — a waterfall with no ticket booth and usually nobody in it.

  • A full off-road day before the Loop even starts
  • Two trek days · lunch on the floor of a Dao family kitchen
  • Kayak on the Nho Que, five hundred metres below the road
  • Lao Xa silver, hand-hammered in a courtyard

Sleep on the White Cliff — add 1,200,000₫ (~$46) per person. Tent, gear carried up, dinner cooked on the ledge. Refunded in full if the weather moves us indoors.

Ha Giang → Cao Bang

5 days · 4 nights · ±620 km · one guest, one rider

Keep going where the tour buses turn around: the quiet border country of Cao Bang, the 14-turn Me Pia Pass, and Ban Gioc Waterfall — where we sleep next to the falls and see them at sunrise, before anyone else arrives.

  • Ha Giang → Dong Van → Meo Vac → Bao Lac → Ban Gioc → Cao Bang
  • Lo Lo and Tay villages that see almost no tourists
  • Nguom Ngao Cave on the final morning
  • Limousine bus ticket back to Hanoi included

Forest & Stone

5 days · 4 nights · max 5 guests · two trek days

Two treks, one cliff. Open in the forest above Quan Ba, close in the Tay villages of Ha Giang — and camp on Ma Pi Leng in between.

  • Two full trekking days, not photo-stop strolls
  • A tent on the white cliff of Ma Pi Leng, 500m above the river
  • Ninety minutes kayaking at Khau Vai — no engine, no queue
  • Thon Tha and Thon Thanh, the Tay villages every Loop tour drives past

Your guide is Matthew or a local trekking guide he works with — and you will know their name before you arrive. If the weather turns on camping night, you move to a private homestay room below the cliff, and nothing else changes.
